Creation Care

For God so loved the world…

Cedar Park’s Creation Care Committee exists to help people to move from exploitation to restoration in their relationship with creation. We seek to encourage one another in becoming caring stewards of the world that God made, loves, died for, and will make new. We long to see everyone increasingly embrace their responsibility to participate with God in His work of restoring peace, order, and beauty in the world, through their vocations both inside and outside the home.

Specifically, we set out to intentionally encourage and expand our church’s stewardship by promoting environmental awareness and undertaking achievable creation care projects in our church and community.

Current Initiatives

  • Establishing organic recycling for church functions and having Green Committee members available at SOUPer lunches and other functions
  • Providing a Green Tip Of The Week for the church’s weekly e-newsletter
  • Maintaining a Community Share bulletin board in the church foyer to foster an exchange between people in the church for goods and services as well as provide Green Tips and helpful resources
  • Hosting public movie screenings on environmental issues for the wider community
