Cedar Park Church is situated on artificially created high ground in Ladner, making it one of the highest locations in the community. In 2007 Cedar Park Church completed a 405 sq. meter addition and renovation, bringing the total size of the building to 1,363 sq. meters. This makes it one of the larger meeting places in Ladner. With these two assets in mind, Cedar Park Church applied for and was given designation as an Emergency Refuge Station for any declared disaster in the community of Ladner.

Delta’s Emergency Social Services works with the Provincial Emergency Program (PEP) to ensure that persons in disaster situations obtain emergency care. In a widespread disaster, local Recreation Centres and City Hall will be used as reception areas to process any needs that arise.

Cedar Park Church will be available for large scale emergency refuge in cases such as an earthquake or flood.
