Faith, Grief, and COVID 19: A Conversation

Join us Nov 다운로드. 8, 15, 22, 29 from 9:30-10:15 am on Zoom for a 4 part Sunday School series called Faith, Grief, and COVID-19: A Conversation. This series, created by Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries, addresses the questions so many of us are facing during this pandemic: How do we understand and process grief as people of faith 다운로드? How can we support those who are grieving and struggling with anxiety and depression while practicing physical distancing? Where can we find hope and joy in this season 다운로드? Each session will feature a short video followed by a time of discussion. The videos feature insights from a panel of experts: Dr. Hillary McBride, Registered Clinical Counsellor; Rev 다운로드. Dr. John Swinton, University of Aberdeen; Dr. Ruth Lawson-McConnell, Director of Trinity Initiatives Counselling and Consulting; Prof. Lawrence Cheung, Spiritual Health Practitioner 다운로드. The sessions will cover the following material:

  • the complex and dynamic nature of grief in this season
  • the presence of grief and lament in Scripture
  • the role that culture and faith play in shaping our experiences of grief
  • the importance of empathy and hospitality in the grieving process
  • practical ways to support those who are grieving and experiencing anxiety and depression
