Cedar Park Church had its beginnings in September 1979 with 40 founding members who all lived in the community but attended churches elsewhere. This group of people wanted to have a church home that would serve the needs of their families and have a presence in their local community. They all started meeting together in their own homes, but eventually moved to the Tsawwassen Golf Course. After switching over to Holly Elementary and then again to Delta Senior Secondary School, they finally erected their own building in the heart of Ladner.
From the beginning, each member of Cedar Park was encouraged to be intentionally active in the community developing relationships with people outside of the church.
The first worship service in the new building was held on June 12, 1988 with a congregation of approximately 75 people, under the leadership of Pastor Garry Prieb. Of the original 40 charter members, 6 are still active in the church.
Over the years, the church community had to make on-going renovations to keep pace with the growing attendance. Today, our church continues to welcome people from all walks of life in celebration of God’s goodness to us.
