Myanmar 2018 Part 1: Departure

by | Nov 15, 2018

Cedar Park is headed back to Myanmar!

One more day of packing, filling suitcases full of eye glasses, knit sweaters, quilts made with love, fun activities for kids, and compiling words of encouragement for the people we are getting ready to meet (and meet again) during our trip.

Our team of 7 is beyond excited and we are so grateful for all the support and prayers Cedar Park Church has given to us. We know that this isn’t just a two week trip, but the beginning of a long term, personal relationship with our global partners and with these communities.

We can’t wait to make new friends, try new foods, share culture, bless, and be blessed.

While on our trip, we’re going to be spending a good amount of time in places like Lighthouse farm and in the big city of Yangon. We’ll be spending time with adults, fitting them with eye glasses through our optical clinic and we will be spending time with children, sharing with them fun games and stories. We’ll be spending a lot of time at table with Myanmar people, hearing their stories, listening for what their joys and passions are, and dreaming dreams alongside them. Spending time with our good friends Dave and Louise Sinclair-Peters, Isaiah, and Jeremy Penner will be another highlight for us as we believe in their work, love their hearts, and get to pray with them for the country of Myanmar.

We can’t wait to make new friends, try new foods, share culture, bless, and be blessed. Keep checking back for more stories about how our time in Myanmar is going, the people we are meeting, what we are experiencing, and what God is doing in and through us here!
